Learning Model of the Campus Asia Program

Ritsumeikan University College of Letters’ Campus Asia Program is an international education program spanning the four years of college life. The program is jointly operated by Guangdong University of Foreign Studies in Guangzhou, People's Republic of China, Dongseo University in Busan, Republic of Korea and Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University in Beppu, Japan and is an unprecedented higher education program that allows students from the three countries to study together as equals. Specifically, in their second and third years, students move from their home university to an overseas university campus or “Joint Campus”, and while helping each other, take classes of each university in the local language. Furthermore, from the 2022 academic year, the program has been renewed into a three-course program, with a new course that allows students to acquire practical English skills in addition to the original three language East Asian studies.
