Up until this point, decisions regarding important matters in response to the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) have been made by the Coordinating Council for Executive Board of Trustees / the Executive Board of Trustees, with measures taken in close consultation with the Infectious Disease Countermeasure Committee, and in accordance with The Ritsumeikan Trust’s set ‘Risk Management Basic Guidelines’.

On March 2, 2020, however, on the instructions of the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, The Ritsumeikan Trust Crisis Response Task Force was established (Chairman: Chairman of the Board of Trustees; Vice-Chairman: Chancellor). This decision was made due to the Japanese government requesting the temporary closure of elementary, junior and senior high schools nationwide, and the World Health Organization raising the global risk assessment of the infection to ‘very high’ in light of the current situation with regards to the global spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

From this point forward, The Ritsumeikan Trust Crisis Response Task Force will work closely with the Infectious Disease Countermeasure Committee to implement quick and effective measures, with new decisions being uploaded to the Ritsumeikan University homepage.
