The Institute of Science and Engineering

The Institute of Science and Engineering was established in 1955. The main research initiatives conducted by the Institute include open-type project research, joint seminars involving joint research groups, and research involving the implementation of large test equipment. The Institute also publishes the "Ritsumeikan University Institute of Science and Engineering Bulletin" and hosts open scholarly lectures and various types of symposium.

The large test equipment utilized for a variety of research by the Institute includes an "ultra-high-resolution analysis and structural analysis system," "strong X-ray automatic analyzer," "bio-molecular structure system," and "SR photoelectron spectroscopy." The findings of research utilizing this equipment are presented at symposiums hosted by the Institute.
