A huge amount of diverse information flies about as multimedia data in our society, and the importance of technology for processing media data using computers is increasing. With the aim of realizing a convenient, enjoyable, and comfortable society, students in this course will learn information processing methods for analyzing, generating, processing, and recognizing media data such as images and audio, and develop new technologies that use multimedia.

  • 01 What students can learn

    Image and Video Information Processing Skills

    Students will learn basic and practical skills such as 3D image processing and computer graphics, which involve obtaining, analyzing, processing, recognizing, and generating image and video information.

  • 02 What students can learn

    Audio and Acoustic Information Processing Skills

    Students will learn basic and practical skills such as speech synthesis and speech recognition skills as well as recording and building sound space with loudspeakers and microphones, which involve obtaining, analyzing, converting, recognizing, and generating audio and acoustic information.

    Basic ability as a member of society, which is based on media skills

    Students will learn practical abilities that will enable them to use the specialized knowledge they have acquired in lectures, etc. to contribute to society.   • Image Processing 1, 2 Students will learn a wide variety of skills, ranging from basic to advanced skills, for converting, processing, analyzing, recognizing, and compressing image and video information.

  • Computer Graphics Application Students will learn practical techniques such as modeling and rendering, animation creation methods, and video contents creation methods, which are used in the cutting-edge field of computer graphics.

  • Media Experiment 1 Students will learn programming skills for 3D computer graphics and image processing.

  • Audio and Acoustic Signal Processing 1, 2 Students will gain an understanding of the characteristics and mechanisms of human perception and learn a wide range of skills, from basic to applied, to process speech and audio signals by computers.

  • Pattern Recognition Students will learn the basic theory and methods for automatic recognition and classification of patterns such as images and acoustic signals by computers.

  • Media Experiment 2 Students will learn audio signal processing methods and programming skills for implementing real-time interactive applications.

  • Media Computer Seminar Students will acquire basic knowledge and skills for utilizing computers, as well as skills for using tools for handling media information and creating documents.
