Laos/ Thai / Indonesia Students Participate in SAKURA Exchange Program in Science online_DAY1 2021
We conducted SAKURA Exchange program in Science online for 2 days from December 15 to 16 2021.
Almost 40 students and supervisors from National University of Laos,
Khon Kaen University, Kasetsart Universitty, Chiang Mai University, Brawijaya University participated in this program online.
During 2 days participating students interacted with students and supervisors in collaborative laboratories of GSLS, conducting their research presentations, discussing about future possibility of collaborative research.
We had following very unique online programs.
<Day1>
Special Lecture by prof. Togashi
“Small-Numbers and Minorities in Biological Systems”
Participants were divided into 2 groups and discuss the question following the instruction by 2 facilitators: our international students.
Discussion Theme:
There are systems and phenomena in which small numbers, minorities, or outliers (of molecules, cells, organisms, etc.) are thought crucial. Are there any examples of such systems/phenomena in your field of study (or in life sciences in general)?
Presentation of University profile
A Doctoral student from GSLS conducted a presentation of Ritsumeikan Univ profile.
A leader of each participating university made a presentation of university profile.
Final program in DAY 1 is
Interaction with students and supervisors in collaborative laboratories.
Participating students interacted with
students and supervisors in collaborative laboratories of GSLS,
conducting their research presentations, discussing about future
possibility of collaborative research. and made presentations about their research.
