Ritsumeikan University and Graduate School Autumn 2022 Entrance Ceremony (to be held on September 24, 2022)

The Ritsumeikan University and Graduate School Autumn Entrance Ceremony for the academic year 2022 will take place at the Osaka Ibaraki Campus to welcome new students on a face-to-face basis, with adequate precautions against COVID-19 put in place.
We are considering ways to allow family members to attend the ceremony as we closely watch how COVID-19 infections will turn out to be. We will inform you of our final decision on the university’s website by around early September. We appreciate your understanding in advance.
For new students and their family members who will not be able to attend the ceremony at the campus venue, a recording will be available after the ceremony. We will inform you of the web page and other details concerning the video at a later date.

We hope that attendees will kindly understand and cooperate with regard to the following measures.

  • On the day of the ceremony, please take your temperature at home or other places before coming to the university. If you feel ill, please refrain from attending the ceremony. Automated temperature scanners will be installed at the entrance to the venue. If you are found to have a fever or any symptoms of COVID-19 at the venue on the day, we may ask you to go home promptly.
  • To avoid the Three Cs at the campus venue, please refrain from coming to the university more than one hour before the start of the event.
  • When you are inside a building within the campus, please wear a mask at all times. If you are outside within the campus, and if you “can keep a distance (of preferably two meters or more) from others” or “do not talk much with others when you cannot keep a safe distance,” you do not need to wear a mask. However, if you are outside and are to “talk with someone without keeping a distance (of preferably two meters or more) from each other,” you should wear a mask. Particularly when you are in a commemorative photograph session or other gatherings of a group of people, we would like to remind you that you should not take off your mask.
*If you are outside and “can keep a distance (of preferably two meters or more) from others” or “do not talk much with others when you cannot keep a safe distance,” particularly when the temperature is high, we recommend that you take off your mask in order to prevent heatstroke.
  • The risk of infection can be reduced significantly by wearing a mask, practicing physical distancing, avoiding the Three Cs, and refraining from social eating or drinking. Please bear in mind that you should “protect yourself from the infection and should not transmit it to others” and try to control your behavior.
