Saki Kidera has been selected as the Japanese representative for the World Junior Duathlon.

Saki Kidera, a third-year student at [high school name], has been selected as a representative for Japan at the "2024 World Junior Duathlon Championships" to be held in Australia from August 14th to 18th.

Kidera earned the right to represent Japan by finishing 7th in the elite women's category at the "1st Kaufman Signature Duathlon in Higashi-Ōshima," held in Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture, on February 18th. The duathlon involves replacing the swimming segment of a triathlon with an additional running leg, thus comprising "1st Run," "Bike," and "2nd Run" in sequential order, where athletes compete based on time and ranking.

Kidera shared her aspirations, saying, 
"I'm nervous about my first world championship, but I want to make the most of this valuable opportunity and approach it with solid preparation to turn it into a positive experience. I also hope to feel the strength of the world and learn many things firsthand. My goal is to cross the finish line on the world stage, and I will do my best to achieve it!"
