[Scope]
All credit-bearing GLA courses and all GLA students (both Cohort A and B).
[Policy Statement]
Formal registration for a course presupposes the intention to attend classes regularly. Attendance requirements should be announced by instructors at the beginning of courses and specified in course syllabi.
Any student who is absent for any reason is responsible for any and all missed work. In cases of consistent and/or excessive absence, instructors, at their discretion, may report students to academic advisors, the Associate / Assistant Deans, or any other relevant student resources.
Students should understand that absence from a course may impact their grades according to the course’s attendance and grading policies. Although attendance is fundamentally a matter between students and instructors, academic advisors and/or Associate / Assistant Deans may be consulted in special cases.
In addition to the GLA Class Attendance policy, students should also be familiar with the university policy regarding the Official Approved Absence and Special Considerations on Classes due to Other Cases Ineligible for Office Absence.
