Reconstituting and controlling the epigenome
OThe reason why our bodies are able to perform different functions in each cell is because the genomes stored in each cell undergo different chemical modifications and have different epigenomic information. While epigenomic information shows robustness in being passed on to children and grandchildren, it is also linked to the development of cancer and its recovery through reversibility. In our laboratory, we aim to understand how epigenomic information is inherited and expressed within cells by precisely reconstituting epigenomic models in vitro. We are also developing chemical biology tools and drugs with the aim of treating various diseases associated with epigenomic abnormalities.
