On Friday, December 15, 2023, Ritsumeikan Academics Working in English (R-AWE) hosted a lunch networking event at the Kinugasa Campus. R-AWE is a grassroots network of scholars at Ritsumeikan University who work, and conduct research, in English.

R-AWE events offer a welcoming environment for faculty members working at, or hosted by, the university who use English in their research. These events facilitate networking, contact-making, and the building of intra-university collaboration.

The attendees included faculty from across the campus, visiting professors from Europe, the US, and Australia, and staff from the Kinugasa Research Office. The attendees enjoyed a lunch and coffee, accompanied by around two hours of friendly conversation.

Many participants expressed their desire that such events will continue to take place in the future. Numerous new research connections were established among the attendees and between their new contacts and existing networks.
