On Wednesday, April 17, 2024, Dr. Mona Gamal Eldin Ibrahim, the Dean of the School of Energy Resources, Environmental, Chemical and Petrochemical Engineering (EECE) of Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology (E-JUST), visited Ritsumeikan and met with President Yoshio Nakatani. Ritsumeikan University Vice President Akio Tokuda and College of Letters Professor Keiji Yano were also in attendance, and the members exchanged opinions on the possibility of academic and research exchange between the two universities.

Since signing a service agreement in May 2017 with JICA, Ritsumeikan University has continued to provide support to E-JUST by sending staff to the university and conducting training sessions. President Nakatani has also been involved in the university administration of E-JUST since being appointed to the E-JUST Board of Trustees in July 2019. Ritsumeikan will use this opportunity to continue holding discussions with a view to further deepening its relationship with E-JUST.
