Paris Olympics Sailing Silver Medalist Miho Yoshioka Visits Ritsumeikan

Miho Yoshioka (College of Economics Class of ‘14), a silver medalist in the sailing 470 mixed dinghy race at the Paris Olympics, paid a visit to Ritsumeikan’s Tokyo Campus on Friday, August 30 where she met with Noriko Morikawa, the Vice Chairperson of the Ritsumeikan University Alumni Association.

Miho Yoshioka (College of Economics Class of ‘14), a silver medalist in the sailing 470 mixed dinghy race at the Paris Olympics, paid a visit to Ritsumeikan’s Tokyo Campus on Friday, August 30 where she met with Noriko Morikawa, the Vice Chairperson of the Ritsumeikan University Alumni Association.

During the chat with Ms. Morikawa, Yoshioka said, "Immediately after the race, it didn’t feel like I had won a medal until I felt the weight of it around my neck. The Olympics is still a special event, so I am very happy to have taken home a medal.”

Alumni Association Vice Chairperson Morikawa ended the discussion with some words of encouragement for Yoshioka: “The Alumni Association has always supported students and alumni of Ritsumeikan who aim to compete in the Olympics, so we are all truly happy for your success. We will continue supporting your efforts as you strive to promote and further develop the sport of sailing."
