Acceptance of International Students Enrolled in Universities and Graduate Schools in the United States
Carrying on the legacy of our founding father Saionji Kinmochi—who championed the importance of intercultural understanding and international cooperation—and grounded in our founding spirit of “Freedom and Innovation,” Ritsumeikan University is dedicated to providing a safe and inclusive environment where students from around the world can learn and grow with peace of mind.
In response to the U.S. government's decision to suspend the acceptance of international students (Including Japanese students), Ritsumeikan University has decided to accept international students currently enrolled in universities and graduate schools in the United States, enabling them to continue their academic pursuits without disruption.
Beginning in the Fall Semester of the 2025 academic year, we will welcome these students as non-degree or other types of students at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. For those who request it, we will provide housing through our international dormitories and seminar house, along with academic support to ensure a comprehensive and enriching learning environment.
Looking ahead, we are also considering the acceptance of faculty members and researchers affiliated with U.S. universities and graduate schools, as part of our ongoing efforts to contribute to the advancement of global education and research.
Ritsumeikan University remains committed to fostering a learning community rooted in mutual international understanding and multicultural coexistence.
