Ritsumeikan University Commencement Ceremonies Academic year 2022 (to be held in March 2023)
The Ritsumeikan University Graduation Ceremony and Graduate School Degree Conferment Ceremony for the academic year 2022 will take place as described below.
We plan to organize the graduation ceremony and graduate school degree conferment ceremony in a manner which will allow both graduating students and their family members to attend them in person at the campus venue. However, the way of organizing the ceremonies may be changed due to COVID-19 infection situations or other unavoidable reasons. Any such change will be notified on the university’s web page. Please remind yourselves to check the latest information.
For those who wish to attend the ceremonies, we ask for your kind understanding and cooperation in advance with regard to the following measures.
- On the day of the ceremonies, please take your temperature at home or other places before coming to the university. If you feel ill, please refrain from attending the ceremonies. Automated temperature scanners will be installed at the entrance to the venue. If you are found to have a fever or any symptoms of COVID-19 at the venue on the day, we may ask you to go home promptly.
- To avoid congestion in the campus venue, please refrain from coming to the university more than one hour before the starting time of the ceremony you will attend.
- Please make sure to wear a mask at all times inside the ceremony venue and other buildings within the campus. If you are outside within the campus, and if you “can keep enough distance from others” or “do not talk much with others,” you do not need to wear a mask. However, if you are outside and are to “talk with someone without keeping enough distance from each other,” you should wear a mask.
- Graduation certificates and diplomas will be conferred prior to or following the graduation and degree conferment ceremonies by the graduating student’s faculty or graduate school (we will provide time, venue and other details at a later date).
- As soon as the series of events are completed, please return home, rather than lingering in the campus venue. You should strictly refrain from holding get-togethers, social gatherings, thank-you parties and other parties where you eat and drink together in groups, prior to or following the graduation and degree conferment ceremonies.
- Taking precautions such as wearing a mask and refraining from eating and drinking together in groups can considerably reduce the risk of getting infected. Please bear in mind that you should protect yourselves against coronavirus infection and should not transmit the disease to others.
