Covid-19 infection control measures for campus safety
– To create an environment tailored to a new campus life –
We set up a Covid-19 Response Task Force to take rapid action to prevent infection following the advice of our school doctors and specialists.
(1) Measures to protect students from the risk of infection
- Desks, tables and chairs in all the classrooms and cafeterias have been antimicrobially treated, and acrylic boards installed to minimize the spread of viruses and reduce the risk of infection.
- Doors can be opened with the elbow to minimize hand contact with viruses.
- A physical distance of at least one meter is maintained between students in all directions in classrooms and long desks will be replaced with small desks from the spring of 2021.
- Ventilation and air conditioning systems have been upgraded to improve air circulation and reduce the risk of indoor infection.
- Automatic thermometers and disinfectants are provided at building entrances and other locations.
- Face masks must be worn on campus.
(2) In case of an occurrence, measures to stop the infection spreading
- An outpatient clinic would be opened in the medical service center in each campus to examine patients with fever and conduct PCR testing.
- Ritsumeikan’s original contact-tracing system would be introduced. Users of the system are notified when they have been near someone who has tested positive by registering their locations by scanning the QR code attached to each seat.
