Online Syllabus
This class builds on the grammar, vocabulary and kanji learned in the beginner's class, but also aims to acquire more intermediate-level expressions and to improve the four skills - speaking, listening, reading and writing - in a balanced manner.
In the beginner level Japanese class, students learn basic Japanese expressions through simple topics in daily life. And in the next stage, the intermediate level class, through understanding reading materials related to Japanese life and culture (e.g. anime, famous people, food, writing emails, international students' experiences in Japan), students improve their self-expression in Japanese while exchanging various opinions with classmates, and learning and using more vocabulary and grammar. In order to improve Japanese communication skills, it is important to go beyond the basic beginner's level and practice daily at the intermediate level, trying to learn to respond in Japanese in various situations. This is the key to successful Japanese acquisition from then on.
We hope that CRPS students will feel a sense of accomplishment and enjoyment as they expand their own range of communication in Japanese while meeting a variety of classmates in this class.
