Professor SHIKI Kimiko and other 13 instructors

Online Syllabus

This is an introductory lecture course to enhance students’ understanding of the three academic disciplines studied in the CRPS program: Multi-level Governance (MLG), Regional Economy and Development (RED), and Sustainable Urban Policy (SUP). The course is taught by different faculty members each week who focus on their area of research interest and expertise introducing students to foundational knowledge. In this way, students can obtain an understanding of the academic disciplines of policy science from a variety of theoretical and methodological perspectives and approaches. Students are encouraged to actively consider how they might apply some of the ideas and knowledge that they learn in each class in order to develop a more interdisciplinary approach to their own research. Through learning from a diverse group of professors, students should be able to gain a greater understanding of the multidisciplinary nature of the CRPS program. The aim of the course is to inspire and guide students in developing their academic research interest and research topic they will pursue in their senior seminar courses.
