Associate Professor ANDO Yuta
Online Syllabus
Policy Science is an interdisciplinary and problem-oriented field, and mathematical skills are essential for identifying issues and analyzing current situations. This course introduces fundamental mathematical skills, such as understanding functions and differential equations, to help students develop basic university-level mathematical literacy for Policy Science. This course is designed for students who are not familiar with mathematics, combining fundamental concepts with practical exercises.
With the increasing availability of data, policy questions can and should be analyzed quantitatively, making a strong grasp of mathematical fundamentals crucial. Such mathematical skills can also be applied to social science analysis and simulations, making it highly useful for students' own research activities.
