KOJIMA Naoko Associate Professor

Profile

I became interested in foreign language education through the experience of an international exchange program when I was an undergraduate student. I was involved in English language education in the U.S. (Gonzaga University, Ferris high school) and Japan. I served as a lecturer at Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University (in AY2011 and AY2012), an assistant professor of Doshisha University (from AY2013 to AY2016), and a part-time lecturer at Doshisha University (from AY2017 to AY2018) and Kansai University (AY2017) before taking up my current post in April 2019.

Research /
educational interests

I have conducted research on motivation in classes conducted in English (English-Medium Instruction, EMI) (e.g., learning gender studies in English). I am also interested in learners’ changes through intercultural contacts, such as studying abroad and collaborative learning experience with others from different backgrounds (e.g., a community of international students).
