Born in Kyoto. After studying civil engineering at the Faculty of Engineering at Kyoto University, I earned both my master's and doctoral degrees in informatics from the Graduate School of Informatics, Kyoto University. Since 2008, I have been an assistant professor at Niigata University, a lecturer at Shizuoka University since 2016, and an associate professor at the University of Toyama since 2018, before joining the Faculty of Policy Science at Ritsumeikan University in April 2025.

I am conducting research leveraging the benefits of information engineering and computer science to monitor post-disaster recovery support. After a disaster, society undergoes significant changes from its pre-disaster state, with values, assets, and social connections experiencing dramatic transformations. In this new society, disaster victims must confront the disaster and rebuild their lives. To support the recovery of victims' lives, it is essential to understand the situation from both individual and holistic perspectives. I have developed systems such as the Disaster Victim Registry System and the Total Support System for Post-Disaster Life Recovery, which have been implemented in numerous disaster-stricken areas. By analyzing the various data recorded through these systems from multiple angles, I aim to clarify the actual conditions of affected areas and advance the proposal of new recovery support models.
