On Saturday, October 18, 2025, the “Ritsumeikan TanQ Park”—a knowledge-themed park designed to showcase the vision of Ritsumeikan University as a “Next-Generation Research University” and “Next-Generation Inquiry Academy”—was held at the Kyoto International Conference Center as part of the commemorative ceremony and events marking the 155th anniversary of Ritsumeikan’s founding and the 125th anniversary of the University’s establishment.

The event featured a wide array of programs that allowed visitors to engage with Ritsumeikan University’s pursuit of “inquiry-based learning” and “cutting-edge research.” Through panel exhibitions, hands-on research activities, and live demonstrations, attendees explored diverse fields of study, including space science, AI, art, digital technology, food, and sound.

The Semiconductor Application Research Center (RISA) was represented at the event by Director Kaneko, Deputy Director Araki, and Professor Fujiwara. They showcased research from their respective laboratories and offered an interactive coloring activity using LED lights, which attracted participants of all ages—from children to adults.

We hope that these experiences have provided visitors with an opportunity to appreciate how semiconductor technologies are integrated into everyday life and to feel a closer connection to the forefront of cutting-edge research.
