The Ritsumeikan University Semiconductor Application Research Center (RISA) and the Semiconductor Application Research Association held an exclusive seminar and site visit for members in Kikuyo Town, Kumamoto Prefecture, on August 28-29, 2025.

A total of 30 participants, including corporate and supporting members, attended the seminar at the Kikuyo Town General Gymnasium, where lively discussions were held on the latest trends in the semiconductor industry, recent research achievements, and future approaches to talent development and community planning.

The second day featured a tour of the Kumamoto Semiconductor Area—home to leading companies such as JASM, SONY, and TEL—offering participants firsthand insights into the region’s industrial landscape.

We extend our deepest gratitude to Kikuyo Town Kumamoto Prefecture, and AVANT Associates for their tremendous cooperation in making this seminar and tour possible. We will continue to hold member-exclusive seminars and other events to strengthen collaboration with members participating in the Semiconductor Application Research Association.

Concurrently, we will deepen cooperation with local communities to contribute to human resource development and industrial growth in the semiconductor field.
