The "Ritsumeikan Space Management Program" (Space MP) is designed to equip participants with the management knowledge and skills essential for business development in the space sector, with a focus on the expansion and internationalization of the future space market. The program consists of three courses: "Fundamentals of Space Management," "International Project Management," and "Space System Operations," covering a wide range of topics, from the basics of space-related science and engineering, space business, space law, and project management, to practical operational simulations.
The "Fundamentals of Space Management" course will also offer on-demand classes. These classes are open to everyone, regardless of their affiliation or background, including students from Ritsumeikan University and Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University, as well as students from other universities, high school students, and working professionals.
In-person courses are exclusively available to students enrolled at Ritsumeikan University and Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University. The program aims to foster space-related human resources with strong management skills, utilizing the full range of educational resources from both science and humanities fields at Ritsumeikan University's campuses (Kyoto, Osaka, Shiga, and Beppu, Oita), while also collaborating with space-related companies and overseas universities (such as those in France), to train individuals who can contribute at an international level.
Image of human resources to be developed
We aim to cultivate human resources with the necessary technical knowledge required for engaging in space development projects and space business. These individuals will systematically understand the processes involved in space research and development, business development, exploration missions, etc., and possess the management skills to lead projects to success by collaborating with multinational and multidisciplinary experts.
