| Notes | Due to the limited number of spaces available, students may not be able to take desired courses. Students should be mindful of this if they intend to take any courses required for graduation during their time in Japan. | ||
| Students enrolled for either one semester or one year may take introductory-level Japanese courses only during their first semester. However, if their Japanese proficiency is already above the introductory-level, they will not be eligible to take Japanese language courses. Students who have previously studied Japanese and wish to enroll in Japanese language courses are required to take the online placement test before the orientation begins. |
Students who have prior experience studying Japanese and wish to enroll in Japanese language courses are required to take Ritsumeikan University’s online Japanese placement test before the orientation begins. Based on the test results, the university will determine each student’s Japanese proficiency level, which will then determine the Japanese language courses they are eligible to take. Students cannot choose their own Japanese level. |
Courses available to SKP students are limited. Please make sure to check the course lists from previous semesters before applying. | |
- Students with no previous Japanese-learning experience are not required to take the placement test and will automatically be placed in Level I.
- There is a limit to the number of students who can register for the Japanese language courses, so there is the possibility that not all students who wish to take these courses will be able to.
- Students are only allowed to take Japanese language courses at the campus to which they belong.
