Estimated Living Expenses
Living expenses will vary depending on each student’s individual lifestyle, but a list of estimated expenses is provided below.
Costs may be offset by making use of the on-campus cafeterias, which provide a wide range of affordable meal options. Numerous supermarkets and grocery stores in the local area make cooking for yourself easier.
Other expenses applicants must consider are housing, health and liability insurance, local transportation, and leisure activities.
International students can work part-time in Japan for up to 28 hours per week if they obtain a “Permission to Engage in Activity Other Than That Permitted Under the Status of Residence Previously Granted.” However, it is very difficult to cover living expenses only with a part-time job, so students need to make a financial plan for their study abroad.
