IB course Konze Alps CAS Hiking
ib
On Saturday October 8th, ten IB students in first, second and third year participated in a CAS hiking trip to the Konze Alps in Shiga. Situated near Lake Biwa, the Konze Alps features impressive granite rock formations and outstanding views over the lake and surroundings. This hike follows a 10 km course with an elevation gain of about 500 m. It’s not only physically demanding, but also provides technical challenges as students need to climb up some steep and rocky trails. This year, students took on those challenges with enthusiasm and really enjoyed the day. By engaging in outdoor experiences such as this, students gain confidence as they develop new skills, deepen their relationships with their fellow IB students and feel more connected to the natural environments around them.
