High School Students Study Italian Food Culture at Ritsumeikan University
A high school-university collaborative class was conducted by Professor Masayoshi Ishida of the Department of Food Management at Ritsumeikan University.
We visited BKC by chartered bus and received a lecture on Italian food culture from Professor Ishida of the School of Food Management. The professor, who is well versed in Italian food culture, taught the students a wide range of topics from food culture to history.
With the cooperation of students from the Department of Food Management, we were also able to experience "true Neapolitan pizza" in a pizza oven that was actually brought from Italy, and the students seemed very interested in the experience. It was a valuable opportunity for the students to experience what they could learn at an actual university.
The Vice Governor of Shiga Prefecture also observed the class, and although the students were nervous, they were able to spend a very productive time while thanking the various people who supported this class.
