My Project Award in Ritsumeikan Uji 2022

My Project Award in Ritsumeikan Uji 2022 was held on November 29. This is a project organized by the Career Education Department of the school, and is a place for high school students working on projects to make presentations. In the IG course, students in the third year of high school are divided into three parts: thesis, experiment, and project. On this day, 23 teams of third-year high school students working on their projects presented and exchanged their efforts at three different venues. At each venue, the teams received advice and comments from guests invited from outside.

While many of the projects are carried out in teams, some are carried out by a single person, and others are carried out by four or more people. Each team starts with an awareness of an issue, analyzes the current status of the issue, digs deeper, and comes up with ideas to solve the issue in their own way, which they then put into action. The "My Project Award" is a nationwide project known as the "National High School Students' My Project Award (MyPro)," and in 2021, more than 6,000 projects were submitted from all over Japan. This project will be implemented again in 2022. The MyPro webpage states, "The My Project Award is one of the largest "learning festivals" in Japan, where high school students from all over the country who have implemented inquiry learning and My Project gather together, present their activities, and think about their next steps through dialogue with the participants. The event is introduced as "Japan's largest 'learning festival'". We may be able to expect teams from our school to submit an entry to this national version of MyPro and have the opportunity to present their work at a national level.
