High school students conduct sports classes for elementary school students
Uji City Ucha School Collaboration Project "Challenge Do Sports" implemented

12月3日(土)に運動が苦手な子どもでも運動を好きになれることを目指したイベント チャレンジ Do スポーツを実施しました。この企画はスポーツ総合を受講している高On Saturday, December 3, an event called "Challenge Do Sports" was held with the aim of making even children who are not good at sports like sports. This project was a problem-solving project by third-year high school students who are taking a comprehensive sports course, and the students took the initiative in preparing for the event, using part of their class time with the idea that "we have learned a lot through sports, and now we want to convey the fun of sports to children.
With the cooperation of the Uji City Health Promotion Division, NPO Machizukuri Net Uji, and Root Plus, a general incorporated association, we provided a three-hour sports class for about 30 elementary school children in Uji City.
At the event, through throwing, kicking, and Frisbee, the children enjoyed a variety of exercises so that even children who are not good at sports can enjoy exercising. The children, who were a bit nervous at first, showed smiles of enjoyment.
The high school students who managed the event also commented that they gained a great sense of accomplishment and understood that they had played sports with the support of many people.
