Proposal for the Future of Traditional Industries by High School IB Course Students

Exhibition "The Spirit of Takumi in a New Era of Life

Ritsumeikan Uji High School IB Course and Foundation for Promoting Kyoto Traditional Industry are pleased to announce the exhibition "The Spirit of Takumi in New Age Life - Proposals from Kyoto's Future and High School Students" at Kyoto Musreum of Crafts and Design from January 24 to January 29, 2012.

This exhibition is an opportunity for high school students to make proposals on how to utilize Kyoto's traditional industries in their daily lives. The students actually visited craftspeople working in six traditional industries, including Nishijin textiles and Kyoto Yuzen, and deepened their understanding of Kyoto's traditional industries through hands-on experience and interviews, and compiled their proposals in posters, videos, and productions.

Please come and see what our IB course students, with their diverse cultures and values, have proposed, along with the various exhibits.
