[SA Activities] Won a special prize at the International Harp Festival!

The school has students who are active as SAs (Scholar Athletes & Artists).

These students enter Ritsumeikan Uji Junior High School in recognition of their outstanding achievements in sports, performing arts, and the arts, and they further hone their "skills" during their six years of junior and senior high school while also working hard academically.

We will introduce the activities of SA students on our school website.

At the Wales international harp festival competition held in Wales, England, from April 5 to April 11, high school senior SA student Yuki Denpo (harp) competed in the Chief Musician (under 35 years old) category and won a special award.

This competition had a video screening process prior to the competition, and Denpo was selected as one of the 15 who passed the screening. The first stage lasted 20 minutes, and the second stage 25 minutes, for a total of 8 pieces.

Comments from Denpo, winner of the Special Award

I think I was able to learn how to work with the songs and finish them in a short period this time. At first, I was worried that I wouldn't be able to finish eight songs in three months, but I worked on them until the very last minute and managed to give the performance I envisioned.

We look forward to Denpo's future endeavors.
