On Friday, April 28, junior high school first-year students went on a field trip to Actpal Uji, the Uji City Outdoor Center, which had been their annual visit before Corona.

For the first activity, we moved to the gymnasium after the opening ceremony and had an ice breaker. We played an icebreaking activity in which we formed groups by exchanging information silently and only through gestures. After that, by conducting the activity of forming groups while speaking out loud, the participants were able to learn the importance of dialogue while having fun. In each activity, the students were able to realize the importance of movement and stillness and a sense of balance as they repeatedly acted quickly, listened to explanations, and enjoyed the activity.

In the gymnasium, we also practiced the rowing back-to-back relay. We were able to meet a lot of growth potential for the gymnastics competition. We hope that each student will consider their own countermeasures during the Golden Week holidays and practice well before the event, so that they can show their class ability in the event.

After lunch, each class practiced the school song. In the school song chorus contest, the students showed the results of their practice in order to win the contest. All the classes were very good, and we are now looking forward to the chorus contest to be held in November.

At the end of the activity, we listened to a lecture about Ritsumeikan. The students enjoyed the quiz-style part of the lecture as much as they could, while taking serious notes on the important parts, and were able to learn with the same enthusiasm as the 21st students.

I would like to reset the fatigue of April, and from the time after Golden Week, I would like to make use of what I have learned in the field trip and grow further.
