My Project Award in Ritsumeikan Uji 2023

The My Project Award Ritsumeikan Uji 2023 was held on November 27. This is a project organized by the Career Education Department of the school, and is an opportunity for high school students working on projects to present their work. The school offers a variety of exploratory activities throughout the three years of high school according to the curricula of each course. On this day, a total of 23 teams (6 teams of 2nd year high school students and 17 teams of 3rd year high school students) presented and exchanged their projects in 3 sessions. At each session, the teams received advice and critiques from invited guests from outside the school.

This year, not only third-year students but also many second-year students participated, and their presentations were as high quality as those of their seniors. The students started with a "question" about an issue they had set for themselves, then analyzed the current situation, researched previous studies, and delved deeper to come up with their own ideas for solving the problem, which they then put into practice. The "My Project Award" is a nationwide project known as the "National High School Students' My Project Award," and in FY2022, 5,000 high school students and 600 adults who support high school students participated. This project will be implemented again in FY2023. The My Project Award is one of the largest "learning festivals" in Japan, where high school students from all over the country who have conducted exploratory learning and My Project gather together, present their activities, and think about their next steps through dialogue with participants. We may be able to expect teams from our school to enter this national version of MyPro and have the opportunity to present their work in a larger setting.
