High School graduation ceremony

On Saturday, March 9th, the 30th Ritsumeikan Uji High School graduation ceremony was held in the gymnasium arena, and 418 graduates embarked on their new journeys. Amidst the declining threat of infection, the ceremony resembled pre-pandemic times, creating a solemn atmosphere and a splendid event.

Representing the graduates, Haruka Kusuyama received the graduation certificate, while Miya Uehara received the IB Diploma. Subsequently, various awards were presented, with students who excelled in academics and sports, including Misaki Okuzono, being called forward and honored.

Following this, Principal Ochi delivered his address. He highlighted the school festival theme, achievements like the summer Koshien, football championship, and girls' relay, posed questions such as "What is necessary for various challenges?" and discussed global affairs. Graduates listened attentively, nodding in agreement, seemingly gaining significant guidance for their future lives.

Following the farewell speech by the current student council president, Ritsu Wakasa, representatives Kazuki Watanabe, Junpei Tsukamoto, and Mitsuki Takemoto spoke on behalf of the graduates. Finally, a choir rendition of RADWIMPS' "Seikai" (The Answer) was performed.

Subsequently, the final homeroom was held in each class, and graduates passed through the flower path created by teachers and underclassmen, heading towards their bright futures.
