the WOW program "Serious Field Trip! -Chubu Region Edition-1
On March 26th and 27th, the WOW program "Serious Field Trip! -Chubu Region Edition-" was conducted for one night and two days. 22 students participated, starting with a tour of Chubu Centrair International Airport (Centrair) and visiting several facilities to observe and experience various activities.
The region centered around Nagoya is well known for its automobile and aviation industries, but historically, it has also been a thriving area for ceramics.
In today's context, where the importance of "manufacturing" is being reevaluated, the Serious Field Trip provides junior high school students with a rich experience. They have the opportunity to see aircraft up close, explore the roots of the automotive industry, and even engage in hands-on activities like making glowing ceramic dumplings that are also related to ceramics.
Despite the unfortunate rain on the first day, we promptly visited Chubu Centrair International Airport and toured the first Boeing 787 aircraft.
Miraculously, the weather improved, and we followed the instructions to make glowing ceramic dumplings together. When everyone saw the actual samples, they were surprisingly luminous, and everyone worked carefully to finish their own creations, amazed by the results.
