Kansai Junior and Senior High School Girls' Lacrosse Team Clinches Runner-Up in Spring Tournament

Our school's lacrosse team shone brightly as runners-up in the 19th Kansai Junior and Senior High School Girls' Lacrosse Spring Tournament held from April 21 to May 3.

The lacrosse team won their first-round match (against Kyoto Gaidai Nishi + Rakusui) on April 21 with a score of 21 to 3. They continued their winning streak in the second round (against Seirei Junior and Senior High) and third round (against Kandai Junior and Senior High), leading up to the final on May 3. The final match was played under clear skies at Tsurumi Ryokuchi Ball Game Field against our arch-rivals, Doshisha High School.

In front of a large crowd, the team had a strong start, scoring three consecutive points in the first quarter. They added two more points in the second quarter and another in the third, but were caught up in the fourth quarter, pushing the match into sudden victory. After a fiercely contested game, we narrowly lost to Doshisha High School by a score of 6-7, securing second place. Despite competing with the smallest team in our history, the players were applauded for their spirit of fair play throughout the game. Additionally, for the second consecutive tournament, we received the Pride of Lacrosse Award, a prize truly earned by the whole team.

The third-place match of the national tournament is scheduled to take place at Tsurumi Ryokuchi Ball Game Field in July. We aim to use this disappointment as a springboard to victory in July. We appreciate your continued support.
