Australian Universities Fair

On June 2, 2024, the "Australia's Top 8 Universities Study Abroad Fair" was held at Ritsumeikan Uji High School. The event took place in the school's main hall and multipurpose room, offering students of the school, which has strong international programs like the International Baccalaureate (IB), IM, and IG courses with many returnee students, a valuable opportunity to learn about studying at universities abroad.

The seminar was realized with the cooperation of ICC Consultants, who support studying at Australian universities. Due to a lack of information about foreign universities in the Kansai region, students from other schools were also able to participate.

The participating universities were as follows:
- Australian National University
- University of Melbourne
- University of Sydney
- University of Queensland
- University of Western Australia
- University of Adelaide
- Monash University
- University of New South Wales

The event began with the hosting by Rin Murakoso, a senior student, and Anne Takahashi, a freshman. Akie Suyama from ICC Consultants provided basic information about studying at universities in Australia.

Subsequently, individual presentations about each university were made. Students keenly listened, taking notes and photographing the slides. The program concluded with remarks from Mr. Fumihito Matsumoto of the Australian Consulate.

During the individual consultation sessions, over 200 attendees sought information about the educational offerings and life in Australia, forming long lines at each university’s booth. Each participant eagerly engaged with the representatives, seizing this valuable opportunity.

Furthermore, ten student volunteers were involved in the preparation of this university fair, each assigned to support a each university. Direct interaction with university representatives is not a common opportunity, making this experience a significant step in considering their future paths.
