Successful Parent-Child Interaction Lesson in First-Year Home Economics Class
In the first-year high school Home Economics class, we held a Parent-Child Interaction Lesson. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we were unable to conduct this lesson for a while, but this year, with the kind cooperation of our school staff, their families, and alumni, we were able to realize this event.
Students have been learning about child-rearing from various perspectives: "as a child, as a parent, and as a member of society." In the context of increasing nuclear families and declining birth rates, opportunities to actually interact with and experience caring for children are decreasing. Despite the challenges of childcare, we received many messages about the joy of growth, what high school students can do, and what they should cherish moving forward. We believe this was an opportunity for students to reflect on themselves and gain experiences that will connect to their future.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to the families who cooperated with the Home Economics education.
