Career Navigation Program: Learning from Ritsumeikan Alumni
On Saturday, June 7, high school students from Grades 10 to 12 participated in Career Navigation I, a two-part program designed to support students in exploring their future academic and career paths.
In the first session, current students at Ritsumeikan University—who are also alumni of our school—returned as guest speakers to host faculty-specific sessions. High school students were able to attend sessions based on their academic interests, hearing directly from their seniors about life at university, the nature of their studies, and how they navigated their own paths through high school and into higher education. These real-life stories offered valuable insight and inspiration for the students.
The second session featured a special lecture by Dr. Yuzu Minase, Visiting Assistant Professor at Ritsumeikan University. In a talk titled “Exploring the Metaverse,” Dr. Minase introduced students to the societal and personal implications of emerging technologies. The presentation was both accessible and thought-provoking, offering students a glimpse into the evolving future of technology and its potential impact on our lives.
This event provided students with not only practical guidance for shaping their academic futures but also opportunities to broaden their horizons. We will continue to enhance our career education programs to help each student reflect deeply on their goals and take active steps toward realizing them.
