Senior
Attended Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University (APU) Open Campus
On July 17 and 18, 2022, high school seniors attended the Open Campus of Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University ("APU") in Beppu City, Oita Prefecture.
Thirty students participated in the tour, which was a great opportunity for them to experience the international nature of APU and think about their career paths.
On the first day, after arriving at Beppu Station via Shinkansen and Sonic trains, six APU graduates and six international students guided the group on a tour of Beppu City. The international students came from diverse backgrounds, including Mongolia, Korea, Thailand, Uzbekistan, Denmark, the U.S. and Japan, and introduced themselves in English and Japanese. Being able to walk around Beppu City with APU students and hear their first-hand accounts of student life was a great opportunity for the participants to envision themselves a year from now.
On the second day, participants attended the APU Open Campus. After arriving at the campus, four of our graduates took the group on a tour of APU House (student dormitory). After that, based on the open campus program, they chose the projects they wanted to participate in and took part in them.
Third-year high school students are entering an important period in their lives when they are choosing the university where they will spend the next four years of their lives, and we hope that this campus tour will help participants to choose the right path for their future.
