【IB Course】Grade 11 Students Host TOK Practice Exhibition
On Friday, September 5, Grade 11 students in the IB Course held a Theory of Knowledge (TOK) Practice Exhibition on campus.
In this activity, students selected their own “Real Objects” as prompts to explore a variety of “Knowledge Questions.” The aim of the exhibition was to apply TOK concepts to real-world contexts and to examine how knowledge is understood and utilized in society.
This event served as a rehearsal for the official TOK Exhibition that will take place in Grade 12. Students took the lead in setting themes, conducting research, and preparing their presentations. On the day of the exhibition, they confidently presented their ideas to underclassmen and teachers, deepening their understanding through dialogue and Q&A sessions with the audience.
At Ritsumeikan Uji, not only in the IB Course but across the entire school, we emphasize inquiry-based learning that nurtures students’ ability to “formulate questions, think critically, express ideas, and engage in dialogue.” This experience not only served as a solid step toward next year’s exhibition, but also provided valuable learning that will support students in their future academic journeys.
