[Grade 9] Safe Return from the Australia Study Tour!

On Friday, September 5, all our third-year junior high school students safely returned from their two-week study tour in Brisbane, Australia. During this enriching experience, students engaged deeply with a different culture and gained valuable learning and connections.

Classroom Participation and Cultural Exchange

During the second week, students focused on participating in local school classes and interacting with local students. Through paired learning with their buddies and active discussions, they improved their English communication skills and encountered differences in culture and values.

In between classes, they played games with local primary school children and introduced aspects of Japanese culture such as origami, calligraphy, and a group performance of the traditional dance “Soran Bushi.” These moments were filled with smiles and joyful cultural exchange.

An Emotional Farewell Party

In the final week, farewell parties were held at each partner school. Students received completion certificates and gifts from their teachers and buddies, and in return, they expressed their gratitude with heartfelt letters and presents. Many were seen hugging and shedding tears, a testament to the strong bonds formed in just two weeks.

Final Day Memories

On the last day, students visited Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, where they interacted with iconic Australian animals such as koalas and kangaroos. They then enjoyed strolling and shopping at Surfers Paradise in Gold Coast. These final experiences abroad are sure to become unforgettable memories for all.

Student Growth and Looking Ahead

Living away from home and immersing themselves in a new culture and environment for two weeks was a significant opportunity for growth. We hope the lessons learned and the connections made will be treasured and utilized in their future school life and beyond.
