Tackling Real Organizational and Management Challenges of Kyoto Companies through High School–University Collaboration
Final Presentation of the “Kyoto Corporate Problem-Solving Contest through High School–University Collaboration” Held
On Saturday, January 10, 2026, the final presentation of the “Kyoto Corporate Problem-Solving Contest through High School–University Collaboration” was held on the 4th floor of QUESTION, a co-creation facility operated by Kyoto Shinkin Bank in Nakagyo Ward, Kyoto City. Participants included 24 students from the Business Succession Program of the College of Business Administration at Ritsumeikan University (Moriya Takashi Seminar) and four students from Ritsumeikan Uji Senior High School.
This contest is a hands-on industry–academia collaboration project conducted as part of the business succession education program offered by the College of Business Administration at Ritsumeikan University. As a high school–university collaboration initiative, four students from our school joined the program and worked in mixed teams with university students to tackle real organizational and management challenges faced by Kyoto-based companies.
At the final presentation, each team delivered proposals that had been significantly refined since the interim presentation held on December 6. Following the presentations, representatives from the Kyoto City Government, five participating companies, and Kyoto Shinkin Bank provided practical feedback and engaged in question-and-answer sessions, creating an atmosphere of lively and productive discussion.
For our students, this program provided a valuable opportunity to work alongside university students, confront real corporate challenges, and experience university-level discussions and analyses firsthand. Participating students shared comments such as:
- “I was able to feel university-level learning in a much more realistic way.”
- “I am now even more excited about going on to university.”
These reflections highlighted the significance and value of high school–university collaboration.
Building on this experience, we look forward to the continued growth and future success of each participating student. As a school, we will continue to further strengthen and expand our high school–university collaborative initiatives.
