IG Course: Core Inquiry Final Presentation and Exchange Session Held

On Thursday, January 23, Ritsumeikan Uji Senior High School held the “Core Inquiry Final Presentation and Exchange Session.”

At this event, students of the IG Course presented the成果 of their “Core Inquiry,” a research-based inquiry program they have engaged in over three years. In addition, representative inquiry presentations were given by students from Grades 8 and 9 (junior high) and Grades 10 and 11 (senior high).

The IG Course is guided by the philosophy of “from consumers to creators,” aiming to foster the ability not only to receive knowledge, but to formulate original questions and create new value. Students presented either research papers based on their inquiries or project-based outcomes involving real-world action, carefully explaining each stage of their process—from identifying a problem to verifying their findings—in their own words.

During the exchange session held after the presentations, lively discussions took place across grade levels. As students encountered and learned from one another’s inquiries, the day offered a meaningful opportunity to witness how the spirit of inquiry is passed on to the next generation.
