IB Course Visual Art Exhibition

On September 1-3, 2022, an exhibition was held by third-year IB course students taking visual arts. This year, 9 students who choose art created 6~10 works of art, including paintings, crafts, and three-dimensional works, according to their respective themes, and the booths they were given were also designed to impress their themes.

In IB Visual Arts, students are required not only to create a work of art, but also to exhibit it. The artist is required to communicate with the viewers of the artwork about what he or she is asserting through the artwork, the unity of the theme in multiple works of art, and the ingenuity of the work. While the assertions made through artworks are non-verbal communication, the exhibition is intended to develop into verbal communication through the artworks, which is one of the pillars of "ATL: Approach to Learning," the core of IB education. The exhibition is intended to foster the development of communication skills and creative thinking.

In addition to IB course students, many junior high and high school students, faculty, staff, and parents participated in the three days of the exhibition, and it was a great opportunity for students to interact and learn from each other across grades and courses.
