Four students of 2021 graduates of Ritsumeikan Uji Senior High School (Uji City, Kyoto Prefecture) will go on to study at top-level foreign universities listed in the THE World University Rankings.

Ritsumeikan Uji High School offers three courses: the IG Course, in which students can choose subjects according to their own career goals; the IM Course, in which students study abroad for one year; and the IB Course, in which students can obtain a Japanese high school diploma and an International Baccalaureate diploma. In the Class of 2021 (Graduation: March 2022), 14 students will be entering universities overseas. Among them, the California Institute of Technology (USA), Imperial College London (United Kingdom), and University College London (United Kingdom) are among the top 20 universities in the world.
We will continue to develop educational activities that only a university-affiliated school can offer and support our students in pursuing a diverse array of post-graduation paths.

We at Ritsumeikan Uji High School and Jr. High school are proud of all of our graduates no matter what their plans after leaving high school but there is a special satisfaction to see our graduates going on to world class universities. It is important to understand just what a great accomplishment this is because these young people are competing with the brightest students in the world and winning a place in these universities.

Of course, the native brilliance of these students is one factor but in addition to this the environment of the school can help to foster these students to even higher levels of accomplishment. I think expert teachers encouraging students to work on their own special projects is one factor that contributes to their excellence Looking at the final research papers of some of these students shows a level of academic excellence that is truly surprising.

We hope to continue fostering students to follow their passion for study and research and help them to connect with the universities of their choice and dreams.
