Warnings Regarding Infection of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19)

On February 14, 2020, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs increased the warning level for Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province in China to risk level 3 (Avoid all travel). Meanwhile, Hubei Province, China remains at risk level 3 (Avoid all travel) and China as a whole remains at risk level 2 (Avoid non-essential travel).
In light of the situation in areas in China besides those mentioned above, Ritsumeikan has established a policy regarding travel to China as follows.
Ritsumeikan’s Policy Regarding Travel to China (as of February 18, 2020)
- Please avoid travel to all areas in Hubei and Zhejiang Provinces.
- Please also avoid travel that is not essential or urgent to all other areas in China besides those mentioned above.
Please continue to take care to prevent becoming infected and check information issued by government ministries and municipalities regularly for updates.

As with seasonal influenza measures, please avoid crowds as much as possible, and be careful to prevent infection by washing your hands, gargling, wearing a mask, and observing coughing etiquette.
