【Report】 Prof. Kenki ADACHI (College of International Relations) won the ISA Global International Section Book Award 2023!

The 64th annual conference of the International Studies Association, which is the largest academic conference in the field of international relations, took place in Montreal, Canada from March 15 to March 18, 2023. At the award ceremony for exceptional research achievements in the field of international relations from 2021 to 2022, Professor Kenki Adachi from the College of International Relations at Ritsumeikan University was presented with the “International Studies Association Global International Relation Section Book Award 2023” for his book titled Changing Arms Control Norms in International Society (Routledge,2021). This award honors research books that focus on "Global International Relations," a topic that is frequently discussed in the field of International Relations and has made significant theoretical contributions. Professor Adachi's book was praised for its significant contribution to the development of international norm theories. The book includes case studies from non-Western countries, including Japan, which adds to its analytical depth. We are delighted that a Japanese researcher has received the International Studies Association Book Award for the very first time, especially because he is a professor of Ritsumeikan University.
