Co-creation

Japan has a global reputation for a diligent and meticulous workforce, superior science and technology, and a tradition of hospitality as encapsulated in the term omotenashi, one of the key concepts in Tokyo's successful bid to host the 2020 Olympics. Strengths in infrastructure and manufacturing technology are also numerous. Japan was able to achieve preeminence in these areas in Asia thanks to traditional intellect, far-sightedness, dexterity, creativity, and inventiveness. It is important not to view these achievements simply as evidence of Japan's superiority, but rather to undertake comparative research with a vision of a "Co-creation" of Japanese and Asian knowledge founded on symbiosis in Asia. In the modern era, Japan has developed an extensive experience of "Co-creation" with the West; we now would like to see this experience overlaid with experience in Asia.
