The men’s 10m platform diving competition at the 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026 was held on Wednesday, September 30, at the Tokyo Aquatics Centre (Koto-ku, Tokyo). Rikuto Tamai (2nd year, College of Economics), a member of the Ritsumeikan University Swimming Team and the Shiga Ritsumeikan Diving Club, delivered an outstanding performance to win the silver medal.

Tamai won bronze at the previous Asian Games in Hangzhou (the 2022 Games, held in 2023). Since then, he has continued to make steady progress, including winning silver at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. At this year’s Asian Games, he produced another superb performance, scoring 497.20 points to reach the podium for the second consecutive Asian Games.

Comment from Rikuto Tamai (2nd year, College of Economics)

Thank you very much for all your warm support at this year’s tournament. I was delighted—and also relieved—to win a medal at an Asian Games held right here in Japan. The diving competition was of the same extremely high standard as any international competition for the world’s best, so winning the silver medal has given me confidence for the future.
I will continue working hard in both my sport and my studies in the fall semester so that I can help generate even greater excitement around sports at Ritsumeikan University. Thank you for your continued support.
